BIMSTEC Summit: Bangladesh's Leadership in Regional Cooperation

4 सितंबर 2024 को थाईलैंड के बैंकॉक में बिम्सटेक का सातवां summit आयोजित हुआ। इस significant summit में बांग्लादेश ने अध्यक्षता की ज़िम्मेदारी संभाली, जो regional collaboration को बढ़ाने में एक pivotal milestone है।

सम्मेलन में सदस्य देशों ने climate adaptation, renewable energy, energy security, और economic sustainability पर चर्चा की। नेपाल और भूटान में hydropower generation और green energy के उपयोग पर विशेष ज़ोर दिया गया।

Sideline discussions में दोनों देशों के नेताओं ने bilateral negotiations कीं, जिनमें water-sharing agreements और trade facilitation पर विचार किया गया।

2025 में ढाका में subsequent summit आयोजित करने की योजना बांग्लादेश के proactive leadership और integrative strategies को दर्शाती है। बिम्सटेक की अध्यक्षता लेकर बांग्लादेश regional diplomacy और socioeconomic progress में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रहा है।
