The Firefighter's Legacy
Hasan was a firefighter in Dhaka Fire Service. He had specialized training in rescue from high buildings. He was struggling to learn the configuration of the new system. The instructional manual was complex and processing took a long time. He decided to consolidate all information and create a simple guide. But a complication arose when conflict appeared between old and new methods. One day he made a mistake in a big fire, which was an embarrassment for him. unfortunately no one was hurt, but he blamed himself. In comparison with his predecessor, the similarity of his work seemed less. But his knowledge was sufficient to learn and move forward. withdrawal would have been easy, but resignation is not in his nature. His predecessor had told him never to give up permanently. importantly he understood that learning from mistakes is the real thing. Later he started thinking differently. He arranged to automatically update the system. He became more conscious in decision-making. A year later he trained his team in such a way that everyone considered him a hero. His created instructional guide is now used throughout the country.
