The Great Wall of China
Великая Китайская стена — это длинная structure, сделанная из камня и земли. Её строили и поддерживали с V века до н.э. по XVI век н.э., чтобы защищать северную boundary Китая. Было построено много подобных fortifications, но barrier, построенный первым императором Китая Ши Хуанди между 220 и 200 годами до н.э., является самым известным. Основное строительство началось около 208 года до н.э. Работы были начаты китайцами во времена империи Цинь. Первый император Китая Цинь Шихуан впервые использовал её и продлил, чтобы защитить свою territory от врагов. Помимо природных barriers Китая, она использовалась для охраны других территорий и служила первой линией defense против северных племён Сюнну.
