BIMSTEC Summit: Bangladesh's Leadership in Regional Cooperation
Le 4 septembre 2024, le septième summit du BIMSTEC s’est tenu à Bangkok, en Thaïlande. Lors de ce significant summit, le Bangladesh a assumé la présidence, marquant un pivotal milestone dans le renforcement de la regional collaboration.
Lors de la conférence, les États membres ont discuté de climate adaptation, renewable energy, energy security et economic sustainability. Une attention particulière a été accordée à la hydropower generation et à l’utilisation de green energy au Népal et au Bhoutan.
Pendant les sideline discussions, les dirigeants des deux pays ont mené des bilateral negotiations, abordant les water-sharing agreements et la trade facilitation.
Le projet d’organiser le subsequent summit à Dhaka en 2025 reflète le proactive leadership et les integrative strategies du Bangladesh dans le développement régional. En assumant la présidence du BIMSTEC, le Bangladesh joue un rôle clé dans la regional diplomacy et le socioeconomic progress.
