Mountain Tea Blessing

As dusk settled over the mountain village, we climbed the rocky path. Damp breeze drifted up from the surrounding forest. Beside the cave, Grandma said, “This cave holds our ancient tea ritual.” White clouds blanketed the valley below. Warm tea steamed in our hands, the steam shimmering in blue light. Grandma dropped dried herbs into a heated pot. A sweet scent filled the air. She arranged small bowls and cups before us. The village elders sat in a hushed circle. Young Rubel poured while listening to Grandma’s gentle whisper: “The spirit of the hill lives in this brew.” Warm memory flickered across every face as people shared old songs. We lit slender sticks, each flame a tiny flame of hope. Grandma raised her hands: “Whoever sits here leaves with a blessing for the mountains.” We gazed toward the forest, watching breeze and steam weave tiny clouds. City lights sparkled beyond the drifting cloud. After the final sip, silence carried the spirit’s echo through us.
