The Girl Who Learned to Cook

Sara was a girl who could never cook. Her mom would say, "Why don't you learn to cook, being a girl?"

One day Sara said, "Mom, I want to learn."

Her mom was happy. "Let's start with eggs today."

Sara saw her mom take a cast iron pan. "First add oil," mom said. Sara added a little oil from the bottle to the pan.

"Now let the pan heat up. Then crack the egg," mom instructed. Sara carefully cracked the egg. But a little shell fell into the pan.

"It's okay," mom smiled. "Everyone makes mistakes. Just take it out."

The next day, they made beef soup. "First, we boil water," mom said. "Then add the beef, some corn, salt."

"Mom, how long should we boil it?" Sara asked.

"Until the beef is soft. You chew and check. If you can chew it easily, it's done."

A week later, Sara learned to make tea with milk. "Don't let the milk boil too much, or it will burn," mom warned.

Sara watched carefully. Suddenly the milk started rising. "Mom! Mom!" she screamed. Mom came and moved the pan.

"Look, it burnt a little," mom said. "But it's okay. That's how you learn."

A month later, Sara wanted to surprise her mom. She decided to make a cake.

She took eggs, milk, flour, sugar. She took a bowl and added all ingredients. Mixed and filled the pan. Then put it in the oven.

Mom came to the kitchen and said, "What are you doing?"

"Wait mom," Sara said. "It's a surprise."

After 30 minutes, the oven bell rang. Sara took out the cake. It looked perfect!

Mom took a bite. "Mashallah! You made such a good cake? I'm so proud!"

"Mom, you taught me," Sara said. "Remember the egg? The burnt milk? The soup that was too salty?"

"Yes," mom smiled. "But you didn't give up. That's what matters."

Years later, Sara became a famous chef. People would ask, "How did you learn?"

Sara would say, "My mom taught me. She taught me how to crack an egg, how to boil soup, when to add oil to a pan, how long to keep cake in the oven. But the biggest lesson was - if you burn something, make a mistake, don't give up. Every burnt pan, every wrong bite, every failed pie teaches you something."

She opened a restaurant. The menu had traditional beef soup, homemade pie, fresh cake. And every dish had her mom's love and teachings.

One day a young girl came and said, "I want to be a cook. But I'm scared I'll burn everything."

Sara smiled. "Come, let me show you how to crack an egg. Let me teach you what my mom taught me. We'll start with a cast iron pan, some oil, and patience. You'll burn things, you'll add too much salt to soup, you'll forget to set the oven bell. But that's okay. That's how every girl becomes a great cook. One egg, one pan, one burnt milk at a time."

And that girl, just like Sara, started her journey. Because every great chef starts with a mom, a pan, and the courage to burn a few eggs along the way.
